Plenty of new features and balance changes have arrived inDestiny 2alongside the launch of its latest season, though a decrease in Neomuna weapon drops from patrols has players even more upset about the lack of loot in Bungie’s MMO looter shooter. Fans ofDestiny 2have already began diving into the content available in the new Season of the Deep, with a variety of new taken-themed weapons, armor, and even a new fishing minigame providing something for everyone to enjoy.
WithDestiny 2now in its sixth year of service, it’s no wonder that the game contains more guns than most players know what to do with. The game’s latest expansion,Destiny 2: Lightfall, of course saw the introduction of even more unique weapons that can be earned throughout the new destination on Neptune. While these cyberpunk-like firearms represent a few of the firstStrand weapons obtainable inDestiny 2, they’ve unfortunately demanded plenty of monotonous grinding from players hoping to earn them as well. This certainly isn’t a new problem for fans ofDestiny 2, though the game’s latest major update has only worsened the experience for players seeking out the perfect guns.

While Neomuna’s weapons may not be the latest and greatest things to farm for, the patch notes for Season of the Deep reveal that Bungie has reduced the drop chance of Neomuna weapons from VIP patrols on Neptune, though it’s not specified by how much. Many fans such as the Reddit user JesusAteCheezIt have expressed their disappointment regarding this decision by Bungie, as there doesn’t appear to be much of a reason for this change in the first place. This adjustment will undoubtedly make it even more of a pain to collect thepatterns for Neomuna’s weapons inDestiny 2, as red-bordered weapons were already hard enough to come across beforehand.
Many fans have become moreconcerned about the rewards offered byDestiny 2since the release ofLightfallearlier this year. Many fans feel like the loot gleamed from events such as Terminal Overload and strikes is especially lackluster when considering the jump in difficulty that came with the latest expansion, and though the game is now in its second season of the year, it seems little has been done to make players feel more rewarded for their investment.
This is becoming increasingly aggravating for players, with some portion of the fanbase quickly losing interest in the game following the expansion’s launch as a result. That said, players interested in Neomuna’s weapons are excited todelve intoDestiny 2’s new Veil questcontent that has become available with the latest season, as it offers up a pretty unique hand cannon that fans have been clamoring to get ever since it appeared in promotional artwork for theLightfallexpansion.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
