Summary
The recently-released Final Shape expansion forDestiny 2represents one of the biggest content drops the game has ever seen, and one talented fan artist has designed a new armor set for each class based on the aesthetic of the new enemy race introduced. While this new expansion does introduce plenty of new exotics, weapons, and armor sets forDestiny 2players to try out, many agree that the lack of official Dread-themed armor is something of a missed opportunity.
Though quite a few fans had long given up hope of seeing a new enemy race introduced toDestiny 2, it’s safe to say that The Final Shape expansion exceeded expectations in a ton of different ways. The Dread faction present a whole new variety of minions loyal to the Witness, many of which are twisted and malformed versions ofalien races already encountered in theDestiny 2universe, such as the new Subjugator enemies which represent the unfortunate fate of many Lubraeans.

With manyDread units taking onDestiny 2players with the powers of Stasis and Strand, they make for genuinely interesting and often quite challenging opponents. Their unique appearances have even inspired oneDestiny 2fan by the name of HueJackma to design Guardian armor sets based on the race, with the creator showing off a distinct armor set for each class inDestiny 2. The Titan armor set is based heavily on the Tormentor’s appearance, featuring the enemy’s noteworthy shoulder pads. The Warlock set is adapted from the visage of the Subjugators, and the Hunter set appears to be a bit of a mix, borrowing the hood-like head structure from the Husk enemy type, but adapting the wings seen on the Grim as a sort of cape.
What Armor Enthusiasts Can Expect From Destiny 2’s Episodic Content
The sets present a creative way of implementing the fantastic designs of the Dread enemies into a form that can be expressed by players, with the high-quality fan artwork itself almost feeling like it could be official key art. Speaking of armor sets though, players who aren’t fans of the new gear introduced with The Final Shape might instead find something they like among the new armor sets introduced with the freshly-released Episode: Echoes. This first episode ofDestiny 2brings in some pretty alternative gear sets, with all of this new armor being unlockable through the season pass.
Fans also got a good look atwhat to expect fromDestiny 2’s upcoming episodes, Episode: Revenant and Episode: Heresy, in a recent video from Bungie which discusses what the future of the game will look like. While fans have a lot to get through in Episode: Echoes over the next few months, the future episodes also promise some incredible armor sets which many fans will no doubt be pleased with.
