A creativeDestiny 2fan has designed a new subclass, complete with fairly dark lore and new abilities. This fan-madeDestiny 2subclass comes with a range of unique abilities that would make it a pretty interesting addition to the base game.

Destiny 2recently received a major updatevia itsLightfallexpansion. The new content includes a new storyline, the Strand subclass, a few side missions, and more gear, as well as a few changes in the mechanics. However, the expansion received mixed reviews and didn’t fare very well with both critics and a large part of the community, who have criticized its story, a climax that was several years in the making, but it still failed to deliver. However, this does not mean thatDestiny 2players have abandoned the title, as their fan-made creations are becoming more creative than ever.

Now, a dedicated player created the concept for the new Gristle subclass, which can rival some of thebest subclasses inDestiny 2. The Redditor DevilManMic shared the homemade subclass with the community, which comes in three versions, one for each class: the Feardrinker (Warlock), the Subjugator (Titan), and the Skullsplitter (Hunter), giving each archetype a new spin. The lore and aesthetics of all three classes focus on some really dark concepts, such as using the character’s own flesh to attack enemies.

The concept comes witha list of uniqueDestiny 2abilities, such as the Enraged Flesh, in which the Gristle uses tendrils made of hate as a second skin to attack others, or the Wall Crawl, which allows players to move swiftly. Also, all versions of the subclass have unique powers. For instance, the Hunter’s subclass has the Violent Strike, which has three strikes and makes enemies bleed before they explode.

The concept was well received in the community, as theDestiny 2subclasses had major changes when compared to the ones offered in the game. However, some people felt it was too dark for a game such asDestiny 2. Used-Lunch-6512, for instance, claimed that while the concept was “incredible,” it simply was too dark for a game rated for teens.

TheDestiny 2community has been really creative regarding ideas for content since the launch ofLightfall. For example, recently the community has suggested a few changes to remember the life of Lance Reddick, the famous actor who worked on the game and recently passed away. The idea was tointroduce the Reddick Lance, an exotic glaive that would honor the man’s work in the series, and act as a powerful weapon.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
