The recent Kimetsu no Utage event for theDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibaanimerevealed a new trailerfor the anime’s upcoming arc. The new promotional video features a quick recap of past arcs and a glimpse into the next arc, complete with stunning visuals and a peek at Tanjiro’s new sword.

The new arc will retain the staff from previousDemon Slayerprojects, which is inclusive of the main staff at Studio Ufotable such as director Haruo Sotozaki and the chief animation director Akira Matsushima. The officialDemon SlayerUSA Twitter account tweeted the following in the announcement of the preview.

The trailer showed various significant moments in the series before drawing the viewers in with the familiar sounds of metal clanging against metal. The clanging is followed by clips of the main blacksmith of theDemon SlayerUniverse, Hoganezuka, plunging hot iron into water as the screen fades to black. The following text revealsthat the next location for"the next mission" will be the “Swordsmith Village”. Viewers will be excited by the reveal of Tanjiro’sshiny new Nichirin Blade, as his last one broke in the battle against Daki and Gyutaro during the Entertainment District Arc. The blade itself is a gorgeous black and silver metal, a design reminiscent ofBerserkprotagonist Guts’s Dragon Slayer and the myriad of Zanpakutō from Tite Kubo’sBLEACH.

The cast for the upcoming arc includes the enigmatic Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, and it can be surmised that the format of this arc will be like those previous, with the main trio of Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke supporting the Hashira on an important mission.

Koyoharu Gotouge’sDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibareceived its first anime adaptationin April 2019, which adapted the first seven volumes of the hit series.Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train Arcfollowed the events of the first season, adapting chapters 54 to 69 of the manga, followed by the Entertainment District Arc, which is an adaptation of Demon Slayer’s ninth volume.

This next arc, titledDemon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Swordsmith Village Arc, will be an adaptation of parts of the original manga’s 12th to 15th volumes. The original manga began publishing in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2016 and ended in May 2020, with a total of 23 volumes.
