Necromorphs, while terrifying in appearance, are surprisingly vulnerable and can be taken down by removing their limbs from their body. A fewDead Spaceachievements, or trophies, challenge players to defeat the Necromorphs in creative ways. One example of this is theWishbone Trophy. While it’s not the most arduous achievement in the game, it poses some difficulty, and players might need help managing it on their first try. So, this guide has sometips and tricks on how to get the Wishbone Trophy in theDead Spaceremake.
What Is The Wishbone Trophy
For some players, a game isn’t complete untilthey’ve done all the achievementsor there’s a specific one they’re after.Dead Spaceincludes many challenges regarding collectibles and combat, so it can quickly become a 30+ hour play-through. Furthermore, the Wishbone Trophy can be done fairly early but requires some precision. Players must remove a Necromorphs limb from its body using Kinesis to get the Wishbone Trophy.
Kinesis is an ability Isaac can get after finding the Kinesis Module. Modules integrate with Isaacs’s gear and give him particular abilities like telekinesis or physics manipulation. Capabilities like these are common in sci-fi games and often are essential to survival. In this instance, getting the Kinesis module is the only way to complete the Wishbone Trophy. Luckily, getting this module is a part of the main storyline, and Isaac will find it inChapter 02: Intensive Carein the Medical Cargo Depot.

How To Get The Wishbone Trophy
Now that the easy part is done, players can put the Kinesis module to use to get the Wishbone Trophy. There arevarious types of Necromorphs, and not all of them are good targets for this specific attack. Finding a solo one or even an injured one is the best option. Especially considering players will need to act fast. Necromorph limbs aren’t that durable, but removing one using Kinesis will still require some work.

First, players must weaken the limb without completely shooting or cutting it off. ThePulse Rifle is particularly usefulbecause of its precise aim and lower damage output. The Ripper Blades could also work, but they can sometimes be hard to control. The hardest part about this trophy is wounding the opponent without accidentally killing them.
SinceNecromorphs are relatively fast, the Stasis module will make things much more manageable. Stasis significantly slows objects and enemies down for a short amount of time. Use this time to shoot the Necromorphs arm or leg just enough to see the bone start to peak out. Hit the target with Stasis again if needed, but be careful not to use up all the Stasis Energy. Once the bone is slightly visible, use Kinesis to grab and rip the limb off. After that, players will be rewarded with the Wishbone Trophy.

Now, there is a significantly easier, albeit less rewarding, method to getting the Wishbone Trophy. Go to the Security Station in Medical and look downstairs for a room labeled Main Lab Changing Room. There, players will find multiple suits hanging up. Use Kinesis to grab one of the suit legs and throw it. For some reason, this will reward players with the Wishbone Trophy. This might bea potential glitch inDead Space, but if getting the trophy just in name and not practice is the goal, it’s a good workaround for removing a Necromorph’s limb.
Dead Spaceis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
