PlayStation trophies for the upcomingDead Spaceremake have leaked ahead of the highly anticipated horror game’s launch. While PlayStation trophies reveals are often exciting on their own, if only to cage the depth of challenge in a game, there’s something unique about theDead Spaceremake’s list. Fans of the originalDead Spacecan use the Trophy list to compare the new game to the old, see what’s been kept, and see what EA Motive has decided to change. The originalDead Spacewas known to have a very challenging selection of PlayStation trophies to earn. There are just under 50 trophies and while most of them are based on completion, like completingDead Space’s chapters, using weapons, and killing certain enemy types, there are some difficult and tricky trophies, too. Particularly challenging trophies include beating the game on its hardest difficulty, completing it solely using thePlasma Cutterand no other weapons, and upgrading all weapons and equipment. Tricky trophies include finding the mysterious Peng Treasure, and progressing through Level 6 of Zero-G Basketball.RELATED:Dead Space Remake Developer Says Game is Too Scary to Play With Headphones on at NightTheDead Spaceremake’s trophies are largely similar to the original game’s, but with some eyebrow-raising changes and additions. For the most part, it looks like theentireDead Spacenarrative progressionis the same. TheDead Spaceremake has all the same chapter-based trophies. Similarly, most combat trophies are similar if not identical. The new game does remove some odder original game combat trophies, and instead adds some basic ones that encourage players to use mechanics like stomping, kinesis, pinning enemies, and cutting/ripping off enemy limbs.
The newDead Spacetrophies are rather exciting, though. While the main storyline ofDead Spaceseems unchanged, these trophies reveal thatEA Motivemay have some surprises for classicDead Spacefans to discover. There are also some secret trophies which won’t be noted here that are especially intriguing.
Many ofDead Space’s most memorable trophies do remain, for those worried. The Trophy for Level 6 of Zero-G basketball remains. Themysterious Peng TreasureTrophy remains. The Shooting Gallery Trophy has been changed to “Survive the Shooting Gallery.” And there’s still trophies for completing the game on its highest difficulty (now named Impossible) and for completing the game solely with a Plasma Cutter.
