The asymmetrical multiplayer horror giant,Dead by Daylight, has thrived for years, crowning itself as theking of multiplayer horror games. With a roster of original characters of both Survivors and Killers,Dead by Daylighthasn’t been shy about the inclusion and population of some iconic horror franchises for even more Survivors and Killers. Video game franchises likeResident EvilandSilent Hillhave joined the fight, and even horror film franchises likeEvil Dead,Halloween,A Nightmare on Elm Street, and many more, with the best still to come.

Though with some of these famous franchises, they are released as paragraphs rather than chapters. This means that with some updates, a Killer from a franchise is added without a Survivor counterpart to resume the iconic chase of the duo in the virtual world, despite many Survivors being popular among fans. The inclusion of thebest killers inDead by Daylightis certainly a treat, but the game could offer players so much more than it already does. Although fans will be able to play as the iconic Nicolas Cage, some iconic horror final girls deserve to take their survival skills into the fog.

10Sidney Prescott (Scream)

Though theScreamfranchise has moved on without Sidney, having introduced new characters for Ghostface to terrorize, manyScreamfans will remember Sidney as the scream queen of this film series. Sidney survived Ghostface’s machinations for five total movies and even killed a total of four of them. It goes to show that Sidney knows how to handle a Ghostface killer, and she proves that she cando more than scream and run in terror, capable of killing her would-be-killers.

As such, there would have to be some changes made to her character, as Survivors inDead by Daylightrely on stealth and outrunning the Killers rather than self-defense, but her addition to the game would still be one that would please many fans.

9Sally Hardesty (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

DubbedThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre, one might surmise that none survived Leatherface and the Sawyer family, but they would be wrong. One plucky young girl, Sally Hardesty, showed amazing resilience and stamina, surviving dinner with the family and managing to outrun Leatherface to the safety of a pickup truck. The scene of her riding away as she laughs manically is an iconic moment in slasher history, and one fans will be sure to remember.

With Leatherface already as a Killer, it would make sense to add his final girl counterpart Sally, and with her playing the running and screaming kind of character, she would make a perfect Survivor forDead by Daylight, as well as the perfect prey for an angry Leatherface, who wants the kill that got away.

8Ellen Ripley (Alien)

ManyDead by Daylightfans have been clamoring for anAlienDLC, to bring the terrifying Xenomorph into the trials, but the developers behind Dead by Daylight should be sure to release it as a chapter rather than a paragraph, so thatAlienfinal girl Ellen Ripley can face off against her Xenomorph advisory once more, albeit without sci-fi guns and mechs.

An intelligent, brave, and resourceful woman, Ellen Ripley proved time and time again she was more than a match for Xenomorphs, her experience in the movies making her more than ready for trials in the fog. Being an officer aboard the Nostromo, her perks could be focused on her organizing her team, so they can better coordinate their tactics and make it out with their lives. This is a final girl that won’t run around the fogscreaming and making noise.

7Kirsty Cotton (Hellraiser)

Hellraiseralready received a paragraph in the game, bringing the Cenobite Pinhead into the fog along with the iconic puzzle box, and his chains of torment ready to bring the survivors a world of pain. Being an interdimensional demon of pain and pleasure that can tear humans apart with barely lifting a finger, who would have thought a teenage girl was capable of thwarting his plans and surviving his chain hunt?

As such, the feisty and determined Kirsty Cotton is deserving of a spot withinDead by Daylight, having proved she has the grit and courage she needs to survive any manner of horrors she would surely find lurking in the fog.

6Samantha Giddings (Until Dawn)

Though Sam’s status as a final girl purely depends on the player, she still embodies some of the tropes, being the ‘nice’ girl at a party of mostly detestable people, and of course, running away from a relentlessly pursuing killer. Sam contests not only with the maniac slasher who turns out only to be Josh in disguise but also with the true killers, the terrifying Wendigo.

This is a testament to her potential as a final girl, as ultimately herfate rests quite literally in the hands of the player. Armed with courage, strength, and stamina, as proven as she scales part of a wall inside a cave, she would make a great addition to the Survivor roster.

5Nancy Thompson (A Nightmare on Elm Street)

A Nightmare on Elm Streetcame toDead by Daylightwith the infamous killer Freddy Krueger, Quentin Smith from the reboot, andSpringfield Elementary as a map, allowing players to live out theNightmare on Elm Streetnightmare. Although players were already given a protagonist from the horror franchise to play, there is one that is also deserving of a spot on the roster: Nancy Thompson.

Nancy appeared in three of theNightmaremovies, coming face to face with the nightmarish entity and surviving each encounter. As such, the developers should let her and Freddy have another rematch in the fog, as long as Freddy keeps his potty mouth to a minimum.

4Grace Le Domas (Ready or Not)

Married into the messed up Domas family, Grace got more than she bargained for with her wedding to Alex Le Domas. Forced into playing a deadly round of hide and seek after the wedding, Grace goes from a do-gooder to a scrappy survivor, escaping the deadly games of the Le Domas family.

Her experiences inReady or Notmake her more than ready to face the fog, her magnetic personality and the iconic bloody wedding gown look undoubtedly would make her a popular pick. With stealth skills and plenty of grit, her perks could balance around making her aswift and unseen Survivor.

3Needy Lesnicki (Jennifer’s Body)

How would one react if their best friend throughout their whole school career got possessed by a demon and became a man-eating succubus? Needy Lesnicki is forced to decide on that answer herself inJennifer’s Bodywhen that fate befalls her BFF Jennifer Check. Feeding on the flesh and blood of boys, Needy realizes she must put a stop to her, especially when she sets sights on her boyfriend.

Though she seems like a timid, straightedge wallflower in comparison to her more daring and popular friend, Needy proves she can fight and hold her own, making her more than a worthy final girl forDead by Daylight’sSurvivor roster.

2Clementine (The Walking Dead)

Clementine is far from the average final girl, starting in the first season of Telltale’sThe Walking Deadas a young girl alone in a house who wants to find her parents. The player, as Lee Everett, takes young Clementine under his wing. After his tear-jerking demise at the end of the first season, Clementine comes into her own, taking over as the main protagonist and maturing as the seasons and in-game years pass by.

Hardened by her years of fighting zombies and surviving the cruelty of a selfish civilization, Clementine would be more than a match for any of the Killers should face off against in the fog. Her perks could focus on her survival instinct, perhaps allowing her to track Killers so she can evade them all the better.

1Suzy Bannion (Suspiria)

Suzy Bannion is the star and final girl of Dario Argento’s artistic masterpieceSuspiria, in which a ballet school acts as a front for a supernatural cult. Many of the dancers die brutally apart from the recently arrived Suzy, who not only survives the paranormal conspiracies but also kills the cult’s leader Helena Markos before fleeing the school which erupts into flames behind her.

Suzy seems unassuming and dainty at first, fainting during dance recitals and demurely composing herself, but she is no less a final girl than any of her bolder characters in horror movies. She gains the courage she needs to act in the moment she encounters Helena, and proves she has the desire and instincts to flee and survive another day.
