Coca-Cola announced a collaboration withLeague of Legendsfor its next drink, giving players the opportunity to discover what experience points taste like. WhileLeague of Legendsplayers already know what it feels like to gather experience points and gain new levels, this collaboration with Coca-Cola promises to translate that feeling into a drink they can taste while playing.League of Legendsis one of the most popular MOBA and eSports games, with an active competitive scene and plenty of casual players enjoying its gameplay and characters. Its popularity led Riot Games to create new games set in theLeague of Legendsuniverse, such as auto battlerTeamfight Tactics, the mobile gameLeague of Legends: Wild Rift, and an upcoming MMORPG. This new beverage, called Coca-Cola Ultimate Zero Sugar, has branding inspired byLeague of Legendswith a Hextech blue glow. The collaboration withLeague of Legendsis part of the Coca-Cola Creations brand that regularly offers limited editions of drinks based on popular games or inspired by artists such as Rosalia, Ava Max, or Marshmello. This new drink is out now and available until July 18.
Coca-Cola Ultimate Zero Sugar comes with themed challenges and rewards inLeague of Legends. By completing various missions in their matches, players can receive three themed emotes for their favoriteLeague of Legendschampionsnamed Ultimate Teamplay, Ultimate Gains, and Ultimate Tempo. These missions include getting seven assists in a single game, winning a match in under 20 minutes, and earning 12,000 gold in a single game. On top of these in-game rewards, players can scan a QR code on the Coca-Cola Creations Hub to discover the Ultimate Emote Generator, an Instagram filter to view themselves asLeague of Legendsemotes.
This partnership is not Coca-Cola’s first collaboration with a popular video game. Last year,Coca-Cola teamed up withFortniteto create a pixel-flavored soda meant to provide players with an “8-Bit Pixel experience.” The drink came with a dedicatedFortniteisland with four multiplayer mini-games to promote the soda. After tasting pixels, players will now be able to taste experience points with the collaboration between Coca-Cola andLeague of Legends.
