Reddit user MaZerN lived the dream of many Zombies fans, traveling to the real-life location that inspired Der Eisendrache,a map featured inBlack Ops 3’s Zombies mode. The map is based on Hohenwerfen Castle, an Austrian castle built nearly 1,000 years ago. While this would have been immersive enough, the player came equipped with a handheld gaming device, meaning they could play Der Eisendrache while inside the castle that inspired the map.
Zombies Fans Travel To Real-Life Call Of Duty Maps
Reddit user Tattoophilosopher had the same idea, taking their handheld device to the real location that may have inspired Verrückt, a map that places players in an abandoned German asylum. The map isone of the most iconic in all ofCall of Duty: Zombiesand was the second-ever map released for the game mode. Similar to the previous post, the player snapped a photo of them playing a few rounds of Verrückt while standing in front of a location that potentially inspired the map.
To cap things off, the same player traveled to a theater that bears a striking resemblance toCall of Duty: Black Ops' iconic Kino der Toten map. This may be the most essential map in all ofCall of Duty: Zombies, shipping alongside the baseBlack Opsgame back in 2010. The player honored the map’s legacy by playing a few rounds inside an incredibly creepy-looking real-life theater. Kino der Toten was inspired by Chicago’s Central Park Theater, though developer Treyarch took some creative liberties.
