1Operation 40 (Black Ops, 2010)

This is perhaps themost iconic opening mission inCall of Dutyas it lets players partake in an alternate history. “Operation 40"features an operation to assassinate Fidel Castro, juxtaposed as memories accessed during his iconic “numbers” interrogation that will be expanded at the end of the game. The mission is split into several parts, first with Mason and his team being found by the Cuban military as they talk to an informant, then Mason near Castro’s building at the start of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, and then the successful assassination of Castro. Except it’s not Castro they assassinated, but rather his double. The mission ends with Mason being captured and then waking up to be interrogated by Russians.
