Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3andWarzoneplayers can enjoy numerous improvements in the form of a significant new update that’s just been released. Now in its first season,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has added new maps, modes, weapons, and even a fourth story chapter for Zombies. Additionally, Season 1 introduced the new Battle Royale map Urzikstan toCall of Duty: Warzone.

The multiplayer component ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has been dealing with some issues as of late. Mainly, a number of cheaters havewrongfully gained access to MWZ’s Ray Gun Wonder Weaponfor unintended use in multiplayer matches. As a response, Sledgehammer Games has implemented a temporary fix in the form of punishment, having the Ray Gun deal damage to the cheaters when fired. Additionally, an issue with the multiplayer’s Breach Drones has caused it to dole out more damage than intended, leading to some complaints from the community.

Sledgehammer has revealed the patch notes for its large new update, whichaddresses many issues acrossCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayersuite, and alsobrings changes toWarzone.In terms of multiplayer, the update addressed cheaters illegally getting their hands on the Zombies Ray Gun in multiplayer matches. It also adjusted the Breacher Drone’s impact detection to dial in the damage done to opponents. Additionally, thisMW3update tweaks the progression system, allowing players to destroy enemy field upgrades, such as Trophy Systems, Comms Scramblers, and Deployable Cover, to advance challenge requirements related to destroying enemy equipment.

As forCall of Duty: Warzone, this new update adds a litany of small adjustments to many of the game’s weapons. A total of elevenWarzoneguns have been tweaked, with ten of them being fromModern Warfare 3. The Fennec 45 SMG is the only weapon from last year’sModern Warfare 2to see an adjustment with this new update. Most importantly, all of these adjustments are nerfs, with many of the weapons seeing reductions to max damage and/or headshot multipliers.MW3’s Haymaker shotgunand Tyr handgun took the biggest hits, with the Haymaker’s max damage dropping from 52 to 36, and the Tyr’s akimbo damage plunging from 120 to 70.

As Season 1 ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3andWarzonerolls on through the holidays, players can expect some new modes to come to town along with the mid-season Reload, such asMW3’s limited-time 6v6 multiplayer Vortex mode, which puts the all-powerful Ray Gun from Zombies in the hands of one player. Additionally, the “Merry CODmas” holiday event is just around the corner on December 20, and will add even more content in the form of limited-time modes, map reskins, rewards, and more.
