Activision and Infinity Ward have announced their next Double XP weekend forCall of Duty: Modern WarfareandWarzone.Following the very successful launch ofModern WarfareSeason 5, the developers are hoping to give Battle Pass holders a headstart on gaining XP for the brand new season.
Double XP weekends inCall of Dutyare a great opportunity for players to level up guns, ranks, and battle pass tiers. The increased speed across the board gives players enough of a boost to cut down the grind time by at least half for those tiers. SmartWarzoneandModern Warfarefans will want to take full advantage of the extra experience point boost.

On the weekend of August 7 starting at 10 AM PT players will have the opportunity to earn Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass system tier progression in every Multiplayer match. This is a great opportunity for fans to experience the newModern WarfareSeason 5 maps and earn some extra XP while doing so. Players should consider using the latestSeason 5 Battle Pass weaponsand leveling them up quickly using the weekend boost. The weekend ends on August 10 at 10 AM PT bringing players back down to normal XP rewards across the board.
There are tons of great rewards to be found for players who make it deeper into theSeason 5 Battle Pass. Legendary and Epic blueprints, Operator skins, Missions, and much more await dedicated fans to reach their tiers and unlock the Season’s potential.
Double XP weekends tend to be a huge success among theModern Warfarecommunity, and with theFree Access Multiplayer Extended Weekendrunning during the same dates, there are sure to be tons of new players experiencing the rush of Multiplayer action. Take them on in new maps and battle tot he top of the scoreboard for extra points in this XP gaining event.
Some fans have shown concern about running the two events on the same day. Server lag and long queue times plagued the game last time Activision hosted this kind of event smashup making it difficult to take full advantage of the weekend’s rewards. It has been several months since the Activision servers have had any major problems, leaving a majority of fans hopeful that this weekend will be an explosive success for all players to enjoy.
