WhileCall of Duty Mobilerecently teased thereturn of the classicMW2map Terminal, it seems the developers have new content ready for fans before then. That content will come in the form of a new Gunfight map, and it should look familiar to fans ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The map Pine from the 2019 reboot of theModern Warfareseries is now set to come toCall of Duty Mobile. An extremely small map set within a forest, Pine is a perfect fit for the close range encounters the fan-favorite 2v2 mode Gunfight is known for. Since the mode was introduced toCoD Mobile, more maps have been requested by Gunfight fans and it appears TiMi Studios is listening.

Gunfight originally launched onCoD Mobilewith the Gulag Showers map fromModern Warfare2019, another small-scale map designed specifically for the mode. Pine offers longer sightlines than the Gulag map as well as a bit more variety in terms of approaches. What Gunfight map comes next toCall of Duty Mobileis anyone’s guess, though it will likely be another map fromModern Warfareas opposed to an original creation.

Call of Duty Mobilehas found its best success through recreatingfan favorite maps such as Shipment, and that is unlikely to change with any future gunfight additions. The game features the most popular aspects from the entirety of the franchise, so it is no surprise that one ofModern Warfare’smost well received features is getting love on mobile devices. With that in mind, players can expect more ofModern Warfare’sGunfight content to be ported toCoD Mobilesoon.

It will be interesting to see ifCoD Mobileever bringsModern Warfare’sGunfight tournamentto the game. The clever event pits multiple teams against each other, with the groups progressing through a bracket to reach the top spot and earn cosmetic rewards. While it has no effect on the actual gameplay of the matches, it is a fun way to acknowledge teams that thrive within the 2v2 mode and offers an incentive to work together well.

For many players,Gunfight and Warzone are neck-and-neckforModern Warfare’sbest mode. WhileCoD Mobilehas its own battle royale mode as opposed to using the Warzone map, its Gunfight offering is slowly becoming more on par withModern Warfare’sthan one might expect. With that in mind, it is unlikely that Pine will be the last Gunfight map added to theCoD Mobile.

Call of Duty Mobileis available now on iOS and Android mobile devices.
