Bungie started to reprise its classic raids withDestiny 2Season of the Splicer in 2021, which was followed by the launch of King’s Fall after the release of the Witch Queen DLC. For this year’s raid, there was some debate in the community as several fans believed that the returning raid could be Wrath of the Machine as well. However, multiple leaks had already suggested that Crota’s End was the one coming back, and Bungie has now confirmed that it is also bringing back the fan-favorite Exotic with the raid.

In an official announcement, Bungie detailed that the Necrochasm Exotic will be available with the Crota’s End raid inDestiny 2. Usually, the drop rate of these raid exotics is extremely low for all players as it is entirely based on RNG. However, Bungie is changing things up a bit with Crota’s End. This time, there are guaranteed rewards for players who complete the raid in Contest Mode, which also includes Necrochasm. To be eligible for these rewards, players will have to pick up a quest called “Bottomless Pit” before the raid, which will be marked as completed for players who finish the raid in Contest Mode, and the rewards will immediately show up in their inventory.
Completing the encounters and Triumphs in the raid will also give players some material called Essence of the Oversoul, which could be used to complete the Bottomless Pit quest if players don’t finish the raid in Contest Mode. Additionally, this material will also be used to obtain the Exotic Catalyst for Necrochasm, but players won’t be able to complete the Catalyst while Contest Mode is on. This would also be the first time Bungie is giving a guaranteed Exotic to everyone who finishes the raid in Contest Mode, and considering thatCrota’s End inDestiny 2is one of the shortest raids ever, many players have the chance to obtain Necrochasm during the first 48 hours of its launch.
Aside from this, Bungie’s post has also confirmed that Stasis will be a key focus area for the upcoming Season 23. This comes in response to player complaints about the absence ofStasis mods fromDestiny 2Season 22’s Artifact, which will be rectified soon, along with some changes to the subclass as a whole.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
