Magic is a common trend inIsekai manga and anime. With characters being transported to fantastical worlds, magic is often depicted as the dominant power in these stories. But what happens when a character gets sent to another world with technology-related powers?
Most of the time, they will use appliances andsmartphones to live a carefree life. But in the case of the manga and anime on this list, magic is not enough to stop the power of science, especially with certain protagonists determined to use the latter. Here are some examples of great stories where technology triumphs over magic.

6Combatants Will Be Dispatched
Taking Over A Fantasy World Using Missiles & Chainsaw Swords
This goofy and humorous story is about an evil organization expanding its dominion beyond Earth, using the power of its superior tech to dominate the living beings of another world. This manga isfrom the same author asKonosuba, and the humor maintains its wacky and satirical vibe.
InCombatants will be dispatched!,readers follow the adventures of the evil guys trying to take over the world, while they torture innocent magical beings, and terrorize the local Demon Lord with the power of missile barrages. It’s an absolute blast with peak comedy moments.

A lot of manga and anime start with a hero being betrayed by his party members and left to rot in a dungeon.Arifuretais basically that classic trope, but instead of an OP magic ability, the dark avenger earns the power of crafting powerful technology with anti-magic capabilities.
Broken as this might sound, he is also able to craft vehicles, explosives, and even a Gatling gun, which he mercilessly uses to mow down evil creatures and corrupted heroes. Though the harem component in this story is a little much for some readers, the revenge trope somewhat compensates for it. The character development is also quite interesting, especially for the main character’s female companions.

4Isekai Sniper
When A Sharpshooter Gets Isekai’d, The Balance Of Power Shifts
When Ataru is reincarnated in a world of swords and magic,he receives three powers from God. The first is the ability to summon sniper rifles at will, the second is the ability to create bullets, and the third is a magical eye capable of augmenting his shooting skills. The combination of science and god-given powers quickly turns this Isekai’d marksman into a deadly force.
Ataru pairs up with a rabbit-folk girl named Caro, and together form the strongest party. Caro is the vanguard and Ataru is the sniper support. This broken combination allows them to overpower any foe, magical or demonic.

A Modern Military Man in a Fantasy World
Japan’s youngest Self-Defense Force soldier dies after heroically saving a girl from a truck. As per isekai standards, he is sent to another world, and reincarnated as an overpowered main character. He soon discovers he can summon powerful military artifacts and equipment from his world, like tanks, snipers, and even night-vision goggles.
He also notices that a former Japanese soldier from WW2 was brought to this world three hundred years ago, with similar powers but unknown purposes. Now,using his overpowered modern weapons, he will attempt to figure out his place in this world while training its inhabitants into an elite military unit. No magical being in the world can stop them when they fight together.

Driftersis another manga (and anime series) from the creator ofHellsing, and narrates the adventures of several people from Earth who weresummoned to a world of sword and sorcery. Here, the “Drifters,” as the inhabitants of the world call them, use their warfare abilities and knowledge of science and military strategy to wage war against the powerful army of the Black King.
From Oda Nobunaga to a WW2 Kamikaze pilot, all Drifters use their technological superiority and intrinsic war-like instincts to destroy their enemies. It’s pretty much an isekai story with a mature twist, and is highly focused on how the knowledge and technology of our Earth would affect another world if we were to be sent there.

1The Galactic Navy Officer Becomes An Adventurer
An Advanced Tech Soldier Is Stranded In A World Of Sword And Sorcery
Alan Corinth, a Human Alliance Galactic Navy Officer, is left for dead after a terrible battle against humanity’s strongest enemies (The Bugs). Adrift after a hyperjump accident left him as the sole survivor of the ship where he was a crew member, Alan is contacted by the on-board AI, who informs him that they are orbiting an unknown world. He evacuates the ship with all the basic equipment he can carry using an escape pod, and lands safely on the surface of the planet.
Soon, he notices that fantasy-like creatures like goblins live in this land. IRIS, the AI, informs him that there is no way to return to the known human-dominated space, nor to call for help. So, stranded in this fantasy-like world and aided by his superior nanotech, Alan will become an adventurer, and dominate this planet to prepare for the unavoidable attack of the Bugs. It’s an interesting twist on the isekai trope, with a lot of incredible developments.
