Summary

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis packed full of new features and qualities that make it substantially different fromBreath of the Wild. One of the main differences is Link’s new Fuse ability, which allows him to fuse various items with his weapons and shields. This gives players a massive roster of weapon possibilities, some of themridiculously strong.

Merging certain items with weapons will give them magical abilities, and fire is among the most useful damage abilities available. There are specific weapons that do a lot of damage, but it’s difficult to anticipate when players will come across them. Fusing some of those high-damaged spears and swords with these fire-based items will create one of the best fire weapons inTears of the Kingdom.

Best Base Damage Weapons

NoTears of the Kingdomweapons come with an innate fire ability and instead must be fused with a fire material. There’s a wide selection of weapons with high base damage, and although some of them can be reliably found, other players need to pick them up as and when they come across them.

Any Gerudo weapons will double the damage of fused materials, making them incredibly useful for high-damage dealing. Additionally, Zora weapons with Water Warrior will double in damage when near water, or if Link is wet, which can also make them immensely strong.

1Ruby Staff

Fuse Attack Power: +1 (More From Fireballs)

A Ruby Staff can be made by fusing a Magic Staff with a ruby, essentially creating a wand that will shoot fireballs into the air upon use. The base damage of this item only clocks in at 5, which is very low, but the benefit comes more from the fireballs than the melee damage. Rubies can be found insome ore deposits, so the Eldin region is the best place to find them.Magic Rodscan be purchased from Bargainer Statues in the depths (not the one in Lookout Landing) for 160 poes.

Using a Magic Staff will make the fused ruby’s elemental power stronger, causing it to fire three fireballs instead of the single fireball that a standard elemental rod or one-handed weapon might shoot. It’s a greatway to use rubiesif players don’t want to sell them, and it is very useful for ranged damage if players want to avoid melee combat.

2Fire-Breath Lizal Blade

Fuse Attack Power: +15

Fire-BreathLizalfos Hornsare best when fused to a quick melee weapon, or an arrow. When fused with a sword, it will form a wicked-looking fire blade with a +15 to its attack damage. Paired with a high base damage weapon, players will easily be dealing a lot of damage.

Players can get these horns by defeating Fire-Breath Lizalfos, which are often found in warm regions like Eldin Canyon and Gerudo Highlands. Once fused, this fire weapon will deal great damage as well as set enemies, equipment, and the environment on fire.

3Dinraal Hammer

Fuse Attack Power: +16

Both a Shard of Dinraal’s Spike and one of Dinraal’s Scales will add +16 when fused with a weapon and imbue it with fire abilities. Dinraal is a certified goldmine for fire-based items, and dragons are host to a few different parts that can be very useful.

Dinraal’s Spike Shards are incredibly easy to find since they’re just wedged along the back of Dinraal ready for Link to take. They provide the same amount of fuse attack power, and they’re worth a lot less than one of Dinraal’s Scales - which require Link toshoot at Dinraal’s body. Players are better off collecting the Spike Shards to fuse to a weapon and selling any of Dinraal’s Scales for 150 rupees apiece.

4Dinraal Sword

Fuse Attack Power: +20

The Shard of Dinraal’s Fang has a pretty mighty jump in fuse attack power, adding a whopping +20 to any weapon it’s fused with. Granted, Dinraal’s Fangs aren’t quiteas easy to acquire, but they’re nonetheless worth it for that added damage.

Because they’re rarer, and a useful ingredient when upgrading armor, players may want to save the Fang Shards and keep using Spike Shards for weapons, but the added damage could be the difference between life and death when Link is going up against a formidable foe.

Link holding a Flame Gleeok Reaper

5Dinraal Blade

Fuse Attack Power: +26

Dinraal’s Horn is the most powerful part of Dinraal when it comes to attack power. This awesome-looking horn not only wields immense fire damage but adds a staggering +26 fuse attack power to any weapon. It’s easily one of the best fire-based fuse-able items in the entire game.

If players are wondering how to get Dinraal’s Horn, it’s through the same method as most other dragon parts. Players need to specifically hit or shoot Dinraal in the horn area, which will cause a glowing piece to emerge that Link can then collect. Not only does this weapon do some serious damage, but it looks incredibly cool.

6Flame-Gleeok Reaper

Fuse Attack Power: +30

By far, the best item for fire fuse attack power in the entire game is a Gleeok Horn. It’s no surprise that the most dangerous fire weapon would be spawned from the most terrifying fire foe. Unless players get incredibly lucky in Lurelin’s Lucky Treasure Shop, the only way to acquire this monster part is totake on a Flame Gleeok.

The good news is, Gleeok’s will always drop their horns, which means it’s a worthwhile fight. They can befound in a few locations, but an easy one to find is the bridge over Lake Hylia in Central Hyrule. Fusing a Flame Gleeok Horn with any weapon will immediately make it very powerful, even if it isn’t particularly strong on its own. The horn spits flames with every swipe and can set fire to pretty much everything upon impact. It’s safe to say wielding any Flamek Gleeok Horn weapon will make Link appear truly formidable.
