TheBuddiesseries was the guilty pleasure of every child at one point or another. And there’s nothing better than cringing at oneself when older and wiser, so why not watch a classic kid’s movie thisholiday season?
The gang – Budderball, B-Dawg, Rosebud, Buddha, and Mudbud – go on a festive journey to the North Pole, where Puppy Paws (the son of Santa Paws) looks for the true meaning of the holiday season. Of course, it ends on a cliche note: it’s not about what one gets; it’s about what one gives.

Today’s young adults knowGood Luck Charlieall too well. And while they’ve already grown up to be well-rounded adults, it’s always heartwarming to visit the classics of their childhood and show off their exquisite taste in movies to the children.

The plot is unsurprisingly simple, as Teddy and Amy find themselves separated from the rest of the family during the holiday season. Hopefully, this won’t be accounted as a spoiler, but they eventually make it back to the family saving Christmas and spending it as they should: with their family.

There’s nothing that says “Christmas” louder than anything related toThe Nutcracker. Some people enjoy it live in the ballet, others dust off the Barbie DVD, but Disney+ released a 2018 remake of the classic. Starring Keira Knightley and Morgan Freeman, this movie is a fresh take on the classics for adults and an exciting new journey for children.
While it might be too flashy or overcomplicated for some people, and it gives offAlice in Wonderlandvibes, it’s undeniable that the creators did a fabulous job creating the magical setting forThe Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

Everyone’s childhood buddy Pooh celebrates the holidays with his friends inWinnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year. It goes without saying that this is a children’s movie, but a classic Pooh flick is always welcome by the adults in the family as well.

There’s nothing better than cooking with the adults (drinking some cooking juice), and listening to this adorable movie in the background while the kids sit around and watch. The adults become nostalgic, the kids stay put, and there’s peace in the family.

After a serious knee injury, the basketball star Lamont Carr is forced to leave his love of playing behind. The Santa Clauseseries is a favorite of many people. It has movements that bring backEvan Almightyvibes, as Scott (Tim Allen) takes over the role ofSanta Clausfor a year after accidentally killing a man in a Santa outfit.

While at first, he thinks it’s all a joke or a dream, he begins growing a white beard and gaining weight, ultimately realizing that this is indeed for real and that he has some work to do. The second movie brings a romantic twist to the plot, alongside other obstacles, and the third entry in the series introduces Jack Frost to stir things up.
9Disney’s A Christmas Carol
Disney’s A Christmas Carolquickly became a worldwide Christmas classic after its release in 2009. Dickens' story has inspired multiple film adaptations ever since the first one in 1938. And while a 1938 movie may be a lot to swallow for little kids, this Disney classic put a refreshing spin on the classic story.
Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) thinks Christmas is all a joke and plans on spending the holidays in misery. After encountering four ghosts (one of his late business partners, and one of his past, his present, and his future), his bitterness begins to transform. Although his heart doesn’t grow three sizes that day, the transformation is still heartwarming and beloved.
8The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmasis not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s one of the biggest classics for the holiday season. Whether it’s Halloween or Christmas (or just a random Thursday night), this movie will never seize to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

The movie’s style and plot may be a little too scary for smaller children, butTim Burton’s recognizable styleis no stranger to adults of the audience. It’s dark and humorous, has a heartwarming plot development, and most importantly, is full of Danny Elfman songs which are bound to cause a week-long case of the earworms.
7While You Were Sleeping
While You Were Sleepingis one of the bestholiday chick flicksever. Beloved by many, it’s bound to end up on the movie marathon list annually. Lucy Moderatz (Sandra Bullock) finds herself once again amid the holiday season, without a family to celebrate it with.
Lucy plans on spending the holidays alone and takes on the Christmas shift in her job as a transit worker. During her shift, her long-time crush ends up falling between the tracks, saved by Lucy. In the hospital, the family believes she’s his girlfriend and invites her to spend the holidays at their place. And the rest is history.
6Home Alone 1, 2 & 3
Such a list cannot exist withoutHome Aloneon the throne.Home Alone 1, 2, and 3(we don’t talk about the rest) are the perfect movies for adults and children alike. Watching them all together as an after-dinner special, eating the leftovers of the day, with torn-up wrapping paper everywhere is the perfect night.
The original movie series is a nostalgic favorite of many adults and an amazing experience for children watching it for the first time. People can simply never get enough of these classics. And thankfully, they’re all available on Disney+.
