Summary
Ubisoft’sAnno 1800is certainly not short on content, but with such a lengthy catalog of DLC available, it can be difficult for newer players to know which to buy and which to pick up during a sale. Since the game’s original release back in 2019, there have been a total of four Season Passes and 30 individual DLC items, with lots of options for players to tailor the experienceto their own personal preferences. There are two main types of DLC available for players inAnno 1800: Cosmetic DLC and Gameplay DLC, as well as a variety of packs and Season Passes which serve as small collections of individual DLC items.
Cosmetic DLC have very little, if any, effect on gameplay, but can greatly enhance the variation and beautification of player settlements. Gameplay DLC introduces new mechanics, industries, and entirely new maps to the game. Given that Gameplay DLC items generally consist ofmore interactive content, they often come at a higher price point than Cosmetic DLC items. Players can buy different versions of the game with Season Passes included, though it is only the “Definitive Annoversary” edition that includes all DLC items in one.

Updated on June 26, 2025, by Andrew McLarney:Despite many believing that development had ceased on Anno 1800 following its 5-year anniversary, several cosmetic packs have been released since then. Most recently, the Eldrich and Steampunk packs offer players more of a surreal and fantastical style than previous packs. While this is not to every player’s tastes, it does offer another layer of variability and aesthetic difference to settlements, and it shows that the developers have certainly not abandoned the title completely just yet.

The Vehicle Liveries Pack adds a number of cosmetic skins that players can apply to various ships and trains. The Holiday Pack adds festive Christmas cosmetic items for player cities. These items include a Carousel, Christmas Trees, Christmas Market Stalls, and a number of other street decorations.
