Developer Techland has just announced thatDying Light: Bad Bloodis now available on PC for free to any players who already own theDying Lightbase game. Those who do will be eligible to download their free copy of the game by connecting their Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox accounts to a Techland docket site account.

It hasn’t been long since Techland announced theindefinite delay ofDying Light 2, but the company is still going forward with its promotion to mark the originalDying Light’s 5-year anniversary.Bad Blood, the game’s slice of battle PvP add-on, was released in September of 2018 and normally used to cost about $20 to play; however, now that the changes have been made, it’s officially free so long as the base game is already owned.

Dying Light: Bad Bloodworks akin to a battle royale mode, with both player-versus-player and player-versus-environment elements to its gameplay and set in the sameDying Lightworld as the base game. InBad Blood, players compete in a race for evacuation, scavenging supplies, weapons, and other useful loot before making a run for the evacuation helicopter, though only one player in a game can score the spot. And, of course,Bad Bloodplaces the same emphasis on parkour and gory zombie fights that the original game holds.

Fans may be disheartened by the fact that thehighly-anticipated sequelnow no longer has a release date at all, but Techland is attempting to assuage its audience with the new promotion. “With five years behind us, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the support, feedback, and faith you keep on giving us. We really couldn’t have hoped for a better community,” said CEO Paweł Marchewka. To be clear, the free copy ofBad Bloodis available to anyDying Lightplayer regardless of platform, butBad Blooditself will only be for PC, so players should make sure they have one capable of handling the game before picking it up.

Despite the indefinite delay ofDying Light 2, the studio is continuing work; hopefully, that knowledge plus the newly freeDying Light: Bad Bloodfrom Techland will be enough to keep fans on the hook for whatever comes next.
