Minecrafthas redefined the sandbox game genre since 2009, and 13 years later fans are still building impressive blocky creations thanks to its almost limitless design. Despite the new features being added toMinecraftin updates, players are still finding useful exploration tips to improve the overall experience for new and veteran gamers.

One of the most common items is wood, which is useful for building elaborate contraptions anddesigner houses inMinecraft, but chopping down big trees is often tedious and can be risky. However, one player’s exploits make good use of a special item to speed up the process while minimizing risk from fall damage or other unfortunate problems.

Wood comes in many varietiesdepending on whichMinecraftbiome it grows in, and experienced players likely know how to “farm” wood by continuously re-growing saplings. Reddit user u/bl00pyy goes one step further by posting a video that shows how the Ender Pearl’s teleport ability can be exploited. This strategy makes reaching the top of big trees surprisingly easy, ready for chopping into useable blocks with the addition of an enchanted diamond axe.

Players attempting to emulate this awesome strategy will need the following items in their inventory: 4 tree saplings, at least one Ender Pearl, anda sufficient stack of bone meal. Using bone meal on an oak sapling that isn’t in a group of four wastes the bone meal with no growth effect. It is recommended to do so in a spacious area and close to a respawn point (i.e: bed), because the speed and precision needed to pull off this trick will likely require a few practice runs.

This method is a lot quicker than building a staircase or “nerdpoling” directly upwards by exploiting the “jump and place” technique,a trick traditionally used by newerMinecraftplayers. However, it does come with the cost of using an Ender Pearl, which is a rare item obtained from tough Enderman mobs and can shatter after just a few throws. Ender Pearls are also used for crafting Eyes of Ender to access The End realm, so first time survival players may want to save them for game progression instead of a trick shot.

Since its inception, creative players have managed to build working phones, calculators, and evenan entire 3D printer usingMinecraft’s resources. Even comparatively small strategy videos are still praised by the community, ensuring thatMinecraft’s sandbox legacy will continue on thanks to the skill and artistic vision of gamers.
