The first anniversary ofAssassin’s Creed Valhallais closing in, and the developers have celebrated by revealing a glimpse of the game’s new roadmap. This sneak peek shows off some of whatAssassin’s Creed Valhallafans can expect to see from this title in the last few months of 2021, including a new free game activity, a time-limited event, and two Title Updates scheduled for November and December.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallaappeared to be lying relatively quiet in the lead-up to this roadmap being shared–at least, it was before a leak revealed the existence of achievements linked to a piece of upcoming content. SomeAssassin’s Creed Valhallafans assumedTombs of the Fallen would be a new DLC, but it appears this was incorrect.

As it turns out, Tombs of the Fallen is what Ubisoft has labeled a free game activity on the new roadmap shared to theAssassin’s CreedTwitter account, and it will be made available on November 9. The activity will be added on the same day thatTitle Update 1.4.0 rolls out inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. While the new roadmap doesn’t specifically detail what the upcoming Title Updates will add to, remove from, or tweak in the game, the proximity of these two updates suggests they are connected. Soon after, the time-limited event Oskoreia Festival will begin on November 11 and last until December 2. Title Update 1.4.1 is expected to arrive sometime in December.
TheOskoreia Festival also known as the Wild Hunt Festivalis an event thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallafans have been anticipating for months. Dataminers have discovered a number of returning elements from past festivals, including an Archery contest as well as Tournament-like structures, but the primary theme appears to be avoiding the Wild Hunt. The Wild Hunt is a folklore motif found across a number of northern European cultures. Generally speaking, it features a host of spectral, divine, or otherworldly riders thundering across the sky in wild pursuit of prey, led by a mythological figure. Odin is one of the many individuals that have been described as the leader of the Wild Hunt.
As of writing, it appears that fans are looking forward to thecontents ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s new roadmap. Several Twitter users expressed happiness that the game was receiving continued post-launch support, although one expressed frustration that some previousAssassin’s Creedtitles didn’t receive the same support. A number of other users stated that they might return toAssassin’s Creed Valhallafor the new updates.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallais currently available on Amazon Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
