Apex Legends' season 5 quest, Broken Ghost, has come to an end. It was filled with PvE encounters, some of which were lackluster while others definitely hit the mark, and many agree it’s a good building block for future quests. It’s already been teased thatBangalore has a big role in the Season 6 quest, but there’s a good chance that what started in Broken Ghost isn’t over.
For example, it seems Caustic is as manipulative of the legends as many could expect, Crypto’s trust has to be re-established, and Lifeline and Octane are worried about what’s to come. After all, the Broken Ghost quest confirms two details for season 6: there’ll be a new map based on Olympus (Lifeline and Octane’s home), and Ash is coming to the Apex Games after being built by the Legends. The question for those who never playedTitanfallor need a refresher is simple: who is Ash, and what can we expect of the newApex Legendsseason 6 character?

Titanfall 2: Who is Ash?
Ash is one of the antagonists players will encounter during the campaign ofTitanfall 2. She was once an elite Pilot before being put into a robot body, becoming a Simulacrum like Revenant. She later joined Kuben Blisk and the Apex Predators, becoming one of his lieutenants and running an IMC battalion on Typhon (where she fights and is defeated by Jack Cooper, the protagonist). Sometime after her defeat, she is rebuilt by Vinson Dynamics and seems to have no memory now but believes the Remnant Fleet to hold info on her human life.
She is described as cold and calculating, with a monotone voice—essentially, the opposite of Revenant’s playstyle and attitude. She’s not known to be empathetic, likes to play with her targets, but does have some sense of honor. Even after being rebuilt for Vinson Dynamics, she maintains her honor but does seemingly act more kindly than before. Again, it’s unknown why but it seems like that the Season 6 quest, as well asRevenantseeking his death, will come into play with her and her memory. Not much else is known about Ash, but there’s plenty to speculate about her entry into the Apex Games.
Apex Legends: What Class and Abilities Could Ash Have?
First, it’s worth looking at the current classes available in the game and what niche she could fill. There are currently 5 assault classes (Mirage, Bangalore, Wraith, Octane, and Revenant), 3 tank classes (Gibraltar, Caustic, and Wattson), 2 support classes (Lifeline and Loba), and 3 recon classes (Pathfinder, Bloodhound, and Crypto).
Revenant and Lobaare the newest characters, so it seems unlikely (although certainly not impossible) that Ash will either be an assault class or a support class. There’s also leaks to consider: many think that Ash’s abilities line up with Valk’s, a character who leaked yet hasn’t been revealed. Considering how Respawn treated Forge and how Loba was originally Rosie, it’s not impossible and worth looking at.
The lastApex Legendscharacter leakof Valk’s abilities included a jetpack passive by holding jump, which is likely timed as well; a tactical cluster missile, which fires rockets that explode multiple times; and an ultimate called Skyward, which relaunches Valk and Allies who interact into the sky and redeploy their skydive. Given the nature of her Pilot life, this does make some sense. The tactical is a big question mark here, though, as no other legend has a tactical of a seriously damage-dealing nature and sounds OP. It’s worth mentioning that these could have been changed long since they leaked, though, and Valk/Ash being one and the same remains a possibility even if the abilities do not.
Assuming this is the case, it sounds like Ash could be another recon class.The skydiving abilityand Jetpack could be complimented with a new tactical that allows for a more offensive, fast-paced recon class. On the other hand, if the tactical is not re-worked, it’s possible Ash is an assault class. Again, though, that seems unlikely and would already add to a heavy assault pool.
Another possibility can be determined by looking at theTitanfall: Assaultmobile gamewhere Ash is also playable. In it, Ash uses a Vortex Shield to block front damage but AoE and attacks from behind still damage her. She also can use this shield to take control of enemy robotics. If Respawn chooses to expand on this version of the character, a new tank could be what’s in order. This also makes sense since the last tank added to the game was Wattson back in season 2, even if Ash isn’t as big as other tanks.
Looking at the abilities in this form, her Vortex Shield would likely be a tactical. It could be more total front-block damage that Gibby’s shield but not last as long or be used as often, and her ultimate could be based on hacking. She may be able to shut down Crypto’s hack, mess with Revenant and Pathfinder, stopLifeline’s DOC from resurrecting, and more. In short, a wide-counter based tank could fill a particular niche inApex Legends.
For now, though, fans will need to wait and see what Season 6 has to offer.
