Respawn has officially released update 2.12 forApex Legendsfocusing on some specific bug fixes and tweaks amid season 15. Following the release of the game’s latest season back in early November,Apex Legendsgot one of its more notable updates that addresses a number of issues in time for its upcoming content releases.The launch of season 15 offered fans with not only a new Legend Catalyst, but also a brand-new map, Broken Moon. Naturally, many players already found interesting ways to utilize the new character’s abilities alongside others, as well as use the Broken Moon to its advantage. In fact, certain players make the case that the new map’s exclusive feature,ziprails should get a nerf. Now, it appears that Respawn is addressing some of those ongoing issues as it looks to the coming months ofApex Legendsseason 15.RELATED:Apex Legends Players Claim Respawn Has Abandoned ArenasFollowing the November 30 update, Wraith will now be able to phase throughCatalyst’s ferrofluidwhile Crypto players' drone will no longer be able to open doors that are sealed by Catalyst’s passive. The update also includes some bug fixes like lifetime K/DR stats incorrectly displaying for some players. Interestingly, Respawn has also removed certain hiding spots and improved collision in the Broken Moon map.
Developers have been increasingly looking at addressing more gameplay issues, particularly amidApex Legend’s longest running season. Most recently, Samy Duc, Technical Director at Respawn, indicated that changes were coming to the game’s skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system, sometime in mid-December or the new year. As is typical with battle royale titles, SBMM inApex Legendshas received a lot of criticism from players. It doesn’t help whenApex Legendsplayers continue to exploit the matchmaking systemduring ranked play. In any case, the fact that developers are noticeably paying attention to the issues should come as a welcome sign for many fans.
Meanwhile, Respawn also announced what players can expect during the Christmas season. According to the announcement, theWintertide Collection Eventwill kick off on December 6 where the popular Winter Express is set to make a reappearance. Alongside the Winter Express, the limited time event features some unique legendary cosmetic character skins and weapon themes as well. All in all, it looks like developers may have their hands full over the coming months with upcoming content as well as bug fixes and tweaks for season 15.
