Nintendo’s latest upload holds something exciting forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfans. It’s now possible for allAnimal Crossingfans to watch the Nintendo Live 2022 event in Japan from October, which was held to celebrateAnimal Crossing: New Horizons’ second anniversary.

The Nintendo Live 2022 event had been on hiatus since 2019. The audience members were chosen at random by lottery due to the pandemic. The concert featured the musical talents of DJ K.K. as well as a surprise guest appearance from anotherNintendo franchise. There were also a lot of other activities and entertainment for Nintendo fans to participate in, including playing games to win prizes,Mario Kart 8 Deluxeplayer tournaments, and other Nintendo-related activities.

The concert event was titled “DJ K.K. Paradise Mix” and featured other special performances, including music from theSplatoon 3music group called Deep Cut. Nintendo’sAnimal Crossingevent opens in the style of theAnimal Crossing: New Horizongame, with Isabelle making an announcement remotely from her Resident Services desk. Another cute touch was how the popular in-game glow sticks were given to audience members who waved them around similar to the “glow stick wave” in-game.

As for the actual music, DJ K.K. opens with his “Paradise Mix” which focuses on popular original KK Slider music from the game, and moves on to other tracks, including “Clickbait/C-Side,” “Sea Me Now/Front Roe,” “Fins In The Air/Deep Cut,” and more.Animal Crossing: New Horizonsvillagersand popular NPC characters were shown on screen dancing in their usual adorable fashion. Fan reaction to the concert has been overwhelmingly positive, with praise for Nintendo’s stylistic approach to the event and the surprise performance from Deep Cut.

This was an interesting post-pandemic venture for the popular video game company and an exciting comeback from the event’s hiatus. The concert tookAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfansback to the Paradise Planning concert as it featured identical staging and lighting to the in-game concert which was a nice touch. Though Nintendo has officially stopped major updates forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsgame, fans have mentioned that it was great to see the series given its own special musical spotlight in real life. The effort put into it revealed Nintendo Live 2022 at Tokyo Big Site to be the event of the year for Nintendo fans in Japan.
