Summary
As with any form of fiction, video games portray a wide array of characters, from cold and distant but capable protagonists, to silly sidekicks and overtly evil villains. Some games, particularly those aimed at more mature audiences, also often have one or two characters with anger management issues, which can result in the escalation of violence, or in lighter contexts moments of humor.
The most angry video game characters, often become iconic thanks to infamous quotes said in the heat of the moment or for crazy moments in the game where their anger takes over.

Doom Slayer, also known as the Doom Guy among fans, is the protagonist of the high-octane shooter seriesDoom. Despite being the strong silent type, he also happens to be one of the most angry video game characters as showcased by his actions.
Devastated by the mutilation of his pet bunny rabbit, Doom Slayer enacts brutal revenge on any demons in his path, taking no hostages and sometimes ripping them to pieces with his bare hands. He is an example of avideo game character who fights for good but isn’t nice about it.

6Fawful (Mario & Luigi Series)
For the most part, Nintendo’s flagship series is happy and whimsical, but there are a fewsurprisingly darkMariocharactersdotted throughout the franchise. One of the most evil characters who also happens to be awfully angry, is the Beanish antagonist Fawful from theMario & Luigiseries.
Fawful does not respond well to things going against him and is quick to lose all composure as he breaks down in rash outbursts. His speech is often punctuated by unnecessary taunts likely fueled by his own internal anger and shortcomings.

Ricardo Diaz fromGrand Theft Auto: Vice Cityis the epitome of a small man with too much power and anger issues. In pretty much every scene he is raging at someone or something, taking his anger out by shouting at and often breaking the source of his troubles.
No matter how small the issue, Ricardo Diaz never once thought that perhaps he could be at fault himself, always placing blame wherever was easiest. These petty vices also cement Ricardo Diaz as one of themost annoying GTA characters of all time.

While most of the angriest video game characters are deeply troubled and exist in worlds of violence and despair,Mr. Resettifrom theAnimal Crossingseries has the player’s best wishes at heart and is simply frustrated by their inability to save the game.
He constantly reminds players to save their games before turning off their devices, and the more they fail to do so, the angrier he gets. While Mr. Resetti’s anger is mostly limited to verbal rage, depending on the game he can be known to impose small punishments on the player, such as making them perform a menial task.

Although there may be a few characters with worse anger management issues thanGod of War’sKratos, he is easily the most iconic angry video game character, to the extent that the words anger and angry are synonymous with him. Kratos' anger derives from the wrong that was done to him by the gods, and it is the driving force behind his desire for revenge.
Unlike others, Kratos is self-aware of his anger and understands that if controlled it is a weapon, something he tries to teach his son Atreus. However, his anger is never far from the surface and there are many moments when he cannot contain his wrath, leading Kratos to make some awful impulsive decisions throughout theGod of Warseries.

Grand Theft Auto 5’sTrevor Philips is many things, and angry is certainly one of them. AlthoughTrevor does have some redeeming qualities, he is an incredibly troubled individual who feels no remorse for directing his anger at others in violent outbursts. He is incredibly impulsive and not only quick to blame others, but quick to punish them too.
This is apparent from the off, when Trevor flips out and kills a man, before going on a rampage to kill all the victim’s associates. Trevor’s past is also plagued with stories of horrifying impulses of anger, and yet he recalls these stories with apparent glee. ThroughoutGrand Theft Auto 5, players will witness Trevor’s anger management issues firsthand on a regular basis even if they are simply walking the streets as him.

When it comes to the most angry video game characters of all time, there is no doubt that Asura fromAsura’s Wrathcomes out on top. If the title of the game isn’t a giveaway, the action experience is all about Asura’s anger and how it fuels him on his quest to save his daughter and enact revenge.
His anger is intense and uncontrollable, like a force of nature. Despite constantly being killed, Asura is so angry that he comes back from the dead time and time again, gaining power each time. WhileAsura’s Wrathisn’t ananime game, each level is presented like an intense anime episode, and Asura himself certainly channels the same over-the-top anger for which some anime characters are known.
