Retro gaming has made a resurgence in recent years, with many people anxious for new opportunities to play classic titles. Recently, it was revealed that players can expect their preorders for theAnalogue Pocketto ship soon. In an update from Analogue, it announced that preordered systems will begin shipping on December 13. According to the company, customers can expect their video game systems to be delivered between December 14 and 30.
For those unable to receive their shipments during the holiday season, the company provided an alternative shipping option. Based on information from Analogue, customers can request a hold on their order if they are unable to claim the package during the first wave of shipments. The company said those that requested holds placed on their orders will see their Analogue Pocket ship on July 22, 2025. In addition to detailing shipping dates, the update from the company revealed that November 28 was the last day to make changes to an order.
This news comes as the Analogue Pocket had previously been delayed multiple times. In fact, the company has delayed the release date three times since being announced. One reason for these delays was the pandemic that impacted the video game industry throughout 2020 and 2021. According to Analogue, the postponement was due to ashortage of computer chipsconnected to COVID-19.
The announcement of the shipping date for the Analogue Pocket is doubtlessly exciting news for those wanting to check out the system capable of playing retro games. This news puts the handheld one step ahead of other gaming machines planned to release in the future.The new Steam Deckand the Playdate, a couple of upcoming game systems, have been pushed back into 2022.
