Summary
The AMD Ryzen 5 7500F is official and will go on sale in the US soon. The new iGPU-less processor is a budget offering in the sub-$200 range but based on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture. It has been launched globally and will start showing up on retailer websites soon, but there is a catch. AMD has shared that, except for China, it will not be selling the 7500F as a standalone GPU. The idea behind this chip is to offer performance comparable to the more powerful Ryzen 5 7600X but at a significantly cheaper price.
Earlier this month, the Ryzen 5 7500F wasleaked by a Puget Systems benchmark database, and it was found to be the first and only Ryzen 7000 series CPU without an integrated RDNA GPU. Not too long after the first discovery, the single-core and multicore benchmarks appeared on Geekbench, providing an idea of the level of performance that can be expected from the budget-friendly offering. It was found that the CPU delivered comparable performance to the Ryzen 5 7600X.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X Offers Good Value For The Money
AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
Gamers interested in upgrading to a newer CPU from Team Red will find the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X to be of spectacular value thanks to its high single-core performance, efficient hexacore architecture, and compatibility with newer technology such as PCI-E 5.0 and DDR5 memory. It also abandons AMD’s AM4 design, going for a pin-less processor offering by moving them to the motherboard instead.

Now, AMD has officially pulled the curtain and shared complete specifications for the Ryzen 5 7500F. It comes with a 6-core 12-thread configuration with a base clock of 3.7GHz and a boost clock of up to 5GHz. There is 6MB of L2 cache and 32MB of L3 cache and AMD says it has a max operating temperature of 95 degrees C with a default TDP of 65W. The Ryzen 5 7500F comes with PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 support.
AMD Ryzen 5 7500F Price And Performance
As for the price, the Ryzen 5 7500F has a recommended price tag of $179. For now, it is only listed forsale in China via JD.com, even though the product specification page mentions global availability, suggesting it will show up with US retailers soon. However, an AMD spokesperson has revealed that the GPU will only be sold as a standalone card in China but everywhere else, it will be sold by system integrators as part of a PC build. At this price, the next cheapest CPU in the lineup is the Ryzen 5 7600 which costs $219. Besides the lack of an internal GPU, the 7500F is only 100MHz slower than the 7600 in base and boost clocks. This means the performance difference in CPU-intensive tasks will be insignificant between the two.
The Next Cheapest GPU In The Radeon 7000 Series
Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 Gaming OC
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 Gaming OC is a triple-fan dual-slot graphics card that brings Gigabyte’s effective WINDFORCE cooling technology. It has three 80mm fans with alternate spinning that work alongside the five composite copper heat pipes that directly touch the GPU. The GPU uses the highest-grade metal chokes, 2oz copper PCB, lower ESR solid capacitors, and lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, among other features.
Speaking of performance, the new CPU has been benchmarked by Chinese and South Korean publications, and it shows comparable performance to even the Ryzen 5 7600X. In Cinebench R23, the 7500F scored1751 in single-core and 13931 in multicore testswhich puts it right next to the 7600’s 1770 and 14035 respectively. Furthermore, it comes close to the Ryzen 5 7600X’s 1910 and 14842 respectively. On the Intel side of things, the 7500F stands strong next to the Intel Core i5-13400 which is currently going for $207.

Now, looking at gaming performance, the 7500F wasput on a test benchpowered by the RTX 4090 to eliminate any bottlenecks. It was put to the test in several games running at 1080p, and it consistently outperformed the Intel Core i5-13400 (except for Ashes of the Singularity). Interestingly, with an overclock taking the boost clock speed to 5.6GHz, the budget CPU was able to deliver performance often outperforming the i5-13600K and reaching close to the i9-13900K in some gaming benchmarks.
Intel Core i5-13600K
The Intel Core i5-13600K has 14 cores, 20 threads, and a lot of headroom for overclocking. Gamers looking for the best gaming CPU possible, in terms of value, performance, and features will want to start here. Intel managed to not only beat out AMD in the same category but even created a product that’s available to punch up at AMD’s higher-end CPUs.
Intel Core i9-13900K CPU
The Intel Core i9-13900K is a high-performance processor that combines 24 cores, comprising 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, with 32 threads. The processor comes with an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770. It utilizes a hybrid architecture that integrates two core microarchitectures, effectively distributing workloads to optimize performance. This processor can reach speeds of up to 5.8 GHz and features a 36 MB cache. It is compatible with Intel 600 series and 700 series chipset-based motherboards. The unit supports Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, as well as PCIe 5.0 & 4.0 interfaces for rapid data transfer.
With the price-to-performance value, the Ryzen 5 7500F could turn out to be one of the most value-for-money offerings from Team Red. As mentioned earlier, the GPU will be available in regions outside of China from system integrators as part of a build.
