Gacha games have characters of various rarities, from those with tremendously low drop rates to characters that are easier to get. InSolo Leveling: Arise, SR characters are the units that players can acquire easily through the gacha system, though they are generally not as strong as SSR units.

D than SSR units, but under the right conditions and with proper investment, they can surprise the players and enemies alike. The game has a long list of SR characters and players might be confused about which character they should aim for and build. To save players from this predicament, this list aims to help players figure out the best SR charactersinSolo Leveling: Arise.

Kim Sangshik

13Kim Sangshik

The Last Resort

At the bottom of the list is Kim Sangshik, a Wind type Tank SR unit. Kim deals underwhelming damage and provides no support to the team, making him less valuable than other units.

Kim scales with defense and can knock down enemies with his basic skills, but it doesn’t amount to much with his lackluster damage. His passive isn’t very useful, as it only decreases cooldowns under certain conditions. Altogether, these make Kim Sangshika bad choice for players to pickfor their team.

Park Beom-Shik rubbing his belly smiling

12Park Beom-Shik

The Last Embers Can Be Dangerous

Scaling with Defense, Park Beon-Shik is a Fighter-class hunter who uses the Wind element, and is an overall average unit. Park can applyKnockdown and Airborne effects with his skillsto interrupt enemies. Along with decent damage output, Park can be somewhat useful in dungeons, but none of his skills make him a must-have unit.

Park’s passive ability is somewhat dangerous. It gives him a DPS boost by increasing his defense and offense, but can only be activated when his HP is lower than 30%. Park Beom-Shik can deal some decent damage, but generally, his damage output doesn’t justify the time it takes to build him.

Jo Kyuhwan standing with a light spell in his palm floating

11Jo Kyuhwan

The Burn Effect Is A Useful Tool

Jo Kyuhwan is a Light Mage who scales with the Attack stat. His special skills revolve around dealing more damage to burning targets, giving him the role of a sub DPS in DoT teams that deal burning damage.

Kyuhwan is an average light damage dealer, but overall, doesn’t bring anything for the team. His abilities pale when compared to other Light-element SR units, like Yoo Jinho or Kim Chul. While he becomes more useful at max advancement level, Jo Kyuhwan isnot really recommended.

Han Song-Yi character showcase

10Han Song-Yi

Retrieve Weapons To Deal More Damage

Han Song-Yi is an interesting character with fun gameplay, but unfortunately, underperforms. Being a Water-type Assassin, Han Song-Yi can do some decent damage. Her basic and ultimate skills, when used, put Umbral weapons on the ground, which have to be collected. Her passive increases the damage done by these retrieved weapons by 30% when her Retrieval skill is used on poisoned targets. Han’s support skill deals poison damage to the target for a brief time, andlimits the target’s recovery rateby 70% for 30 seconds.

Han Song-Yi works well with other characters thanks to her DoT skills, which can have 100% up-time if used wisely. However, underwhelming damage multipliers put her low on the list. Players can find better assassins or water type characters. The retrieval of Umbral weapons can also pose a problem in stages where time is crucial.

Anna Ruiz character showcase

9Anna Ruiz

Gets Better With Each Advancement Level

Anna Ruiz is a decent option for players in DoT teams, as she has good synergy with characters that apply status effects like Burn or Poison. She scales with the user’s attack, and can use her skills to create a poisonous zone. However, these poisonous zones are not very effective. Most enemies constantly move around, making it hard to stack DoT debuffs.

Her passive ability has a chance to deal 100 Break damage every 3 seconds, and does additional damage equal to 30% of her attack for 30 seconds. Paired with the Break effect, Anna can easily shred through enemy shields. Her poison, breaking ability, and debuffs make for a decent SR character. She’s not the strongest, but players can try her out to see if she works for them.

Lee Joohe character showcase

8Lee Joohe

An Expert Healer

Playing the same role as she does in the manhwa, Lee Joohe is a good healerwho can ensure the team’s survival in tough times. Scaling with max HP, she is an excellent healer for a SR unit and can even keep them alive in endgame content. Joohe can recover allies' HP with her basic skills. Her support skill also recovers the MP for the team. Her passive ability increases the user and team member’s maximum HP, and with each advancement level, her healing powers increase.

While Joohe has incredible HP and MP recovering abilities, her damage dealing abilities are lackluster. Aside from healing, she doesn’t provide much. But as a free character with strong heals, Lee Joohe is a good character for players looking for an active healer.

Song Chiyul standing with his fist curled

7Song Chiyul

Burn Enemies To Ashes

Song Chiyul works wonders in non-boss stages with the help of passive and AoE damage.Heis an offensive magewho scales with user’s attack. Song’s skills involve dealing scorching damage to enemies, and setting them on fire to inflict the Burn effect, which deals damage over time. This ability provides Song with good synergy with other DoT Hunters that apply Burn or Poison. His passive increases the damage of his basic attack by 20%, working like an additional boost for his offensive attacks.

Overall, Song Chiyul is a decent choice for players as a SR unit. He’s a good alternative for players who don’t have the strong SSR characters like Choi Jung-In.

Hwang Dongsuk

6Hwang Dongsuk

Tank With Offensive Abilities

The younger brother of the fierce Hwang Dongsoo, this Dark Tank is a powerful unit. Hwang Dongsuk is a great asset for players, since he can deal big damage numbers and break enemy shields at the same. Dongsuk scales with HP, which allows him to tank more damage for the team. His support skill can Stun the target for 1 second, and increase the maximum HP of the user by 20% for 15 seconds. This can act as a makeshift healing ability.

Hwang Dongsuk can also increase his skill damage with his passive ability if his HP is above 75%. With his passive, he can recover a chunk of HP if his health falls below 50%. Dongsuk can even penetrate through enemy shields with the Break effect on his skills. With a mixture of great offense, defense, healing, and the ability to immobilize enemies, Hwang Dongsuk is a great choice, and hegrows even stronger with each advancement level.

Yoo Jinho

5Yoo Jinho

The Free Character Can Be Good

The Tank Class, Light element user, Yoo Jinho, is one of the best supports that players can acquire for free. He provides a combination of healing, Stun ability, and buffs to allies. Jinho scales with Defense and excels at increasing the user’s Defense for a short span of time. He can heal allies with his support skill and passive ability. Finally, Jinho can shred enemy shields, as he has the Break effect on most of his skills.

Jinho, as a jack of all trades, is a master of none of them, and only does an average job at each. But for a free character and with advancement levels that further increase his extent of abilities, it’s pretty impressive.Yoo Jinho is a solid option for free-to-play playersand beginners inSolo Leveling: Arise.

Kang Taeshik character showcase

4Kang Taeshik

Better Than SSR Characters Under the Right Conditions

Kang Taeshik is an SR character from the Assassin class who uses the Dark element. With his fast movements fitting for an assassin, Kang’s gameplay revolves around striking enemies to inflict Bleed status to deal greater damage over time. Scaling with Attack, Kang can use his Support skill to inflict Bleed on a target for 30 seconds. His passive ability also allows him to administer Bleed on enemies whenever he uses his basic skill. However, some stages can bypass the Bleed effect. For example, some world bosses are immune to it. In these cases, Kang’s damage output falls drastically.

Kang Taeshik’s effectiveness and damage output rise further with each advancement level. His damage output is in the same league as the game’s top SSR characters. Kang is an extremely powerful SR DPS under the right conditions, and if those conditions are met, players should absolutely take a shot at him.
