The fact that an actor was cast in a movie doesn’t mean they’re going to stay there. Sometimes they leave in the middle of the filming for various reasons, but another alternative is that they finish their job, but never appear in the released movie.

Sometimes, the director or the studio decides that the character is unnecessary and the scenes with the hero end up on the cutting floor. Other times, a controversy erupts that leads to the actor’s scene being removed from the movie or even remade with another actor. Whatever the reason, there are multiple cases of well-known actors who were cut from their movies in post-production.

8Paul Rudd In Bridesmaids

Sometimes even actors as popular as Paul Rudd aren’t safe from being cut out of a movie. In Rudd’s case, the explanation is simple. Rudd filmed a scene in which he had a date with the main heroine.

However, the director Paul Feig realized that Kristen Wiig’s Annie already had a functioning romantic storyline in the movie and didn’t really need another suitor. To make the movie more fast-paced and unified, Rudd’s scene didn’t make it into the released cut.
