These weapons are named after powerful creatures and demons from mythology and pack a punch in nearly any situation. Among the likes of the creative Pandora and Dr. Faust and the powerful rocket launcher Kalina Ann, there is scarcely such thing as an unworthy weapon within the series. Each weapon is quite powerful, suits a different playstyle, and excels in the hand of the player who can master it.

11Devil Bringers
WhenNero loses his arm inDevil May Cry 5, he gains a multitude of new ones crafted by the weaponsmith, Nico. Along with the returning ability to drag in enemies from afar to start or extend combos, Nero’s new Devil Bringers uses a multitude of techniques. From projectile fire to area-of-effect strikes, these expendable machines offered a new layer of depth in combat.
Devil Bringers like Gerbera can send out powerful melee strikes while Punchline sends out homing rockets, which can even be used as a vehicle to surf on alaDevil May Cry 3’s cutscene. There’s even a Mega Buster DLC based on Capcom’s gaming icon, Mega Man. All Devil Bringers can unleash a charged attack as well as detonate in order to deal damage and break combos to safely escape enemy attacks.

10Cerberus
Speaking of the familiar missile-surfing cutscene, Dante gains the Cerberus after he defeats the three-headed demon in Mission 3 ofDevil May Cry 3. These ice-infused nunchakus allow Dante to deal quick damage to enemies. Players looking for faster strikes will need not look further.
Devil May Cry 5also features an upgrade in the form of King Cerberus. Obtained by the powerful creature of the same name, who claims that Cerberus, Berial, and other demons are weaker, this creature fought Dante after successfully breaking its leash. While it has ice abilities, Dante can also now charge lightning and fire attacks as well.

9Cavaliere
Dante could dual-wield swords inDevil May Cry 3. Agni & Rudra were a fire-and-wind combination used to deal powerful elemental damage and AoE strikes. The concept returned inDevil May Cry 5 in the form of a motorbike.
The Cavaliere not only can be dual-wielded with a similar technique but also allows for launchers. The insane notion of dual-wielding a pair of motorcycle chainsaws is somehow par for the course with the series' over-the-top action. Dante can also connect the two pieces and ride the bike during battle as an attack.

8Ebony & Ivory
Dante’s classic pistols debuted in the originalDevil May Crytitle. These two guns feature unlimited bullets and are utilized to attack enemies at a distance. This is also useful for keeping combos connected when the player chooses to keep their space.

The Gunslinger style ofDevil May Cry 3added new techniques to the weapons as well as the ability to charge them for extra damage. Dante’s pistols were also used as an incredibly potent projectile attack that trivialized even the hardest difficulties ofViewtiful Joefor PS2. As aside note, Ebony is tuned for accuracy, and Ivory is used for rapid-fire.
7Nevan
This gorgeous succubus encounters Dante and battles him inDevil May Cry 3. The two engage in some friendly, flirtatious banter before their battle begins. Afterward, she transforms into the electric guitar which Dante uses to rock out in his own concert.
Nevan may be competing with the designs of other powerful melee weapons inDevil May Cry 3, however, what’s not to be missed is the sheer charm of the weapon. It’s an electric guitar that can be used for battle, summons electricity, and players get to hit their own riff while doing so.

6Yamato
Vergil’s trademark weaponbecame a fixture of the series inDevil May Cry 3. The counterpart to Dante’s Rebellion, this gift from their father, Sparda, was shaped like a finely-designed katana. Vergil’s weapon is optimized for unparalleled speed and can even slice through bullets.
The Yamato is better explored in the Special Edition ofDevil May Cry 3,4, and5whereplayers can use Vergiland test out his powerful abilities. However, it played an important part inDevil May Cry 5. The Yamato has the ability to separate a half-demon’s human and demon selves into separate entities.

5Shotgun
The trademark shotgun appeared in the originalDevil May Cry. Playing foil to the Ebony & Ivory handguns, Shotgun was fine-tuned for powerful damage at close range. In the original game, it could be canceled for quick attacks by using a simple step.

The Shotgun has appeared in every game in the series and has also undergone new designs and names such as Coyote-A. The weapon could also be upgraded inDevil May Cry 5and, like Ebony & Ivory, can be charged to dish out powerful damage. Dante can also use the weapon to attack enemies everywhere at once using one of his Gunslinger techniques.
4Red Queen & Blue Rose
Speaking of charging attacks, Nero’s trademark sword and gun debuted along with him inDevil May Cry 4. Unlike Dante’s freestyle slashing and shooting, Nero’s hits are a little stronger and more precise. The Blue Rose fires powerful, piercing rounds.
Furthermore, both weapons can be charged for added damage. The Red Queen, in particular, is attached to a motorcycle engine which allows the player to rev it up several levels. Together, these two make for powerful combos when used together against enemies thanks to abilities such as the quick charge.

3Gauntlets
Dante’s gauntlet weapons originally appeared inDevil May Cry. Named after a fire demon, Ifrit served as gauntlets and greaves which dealt powerful blunt damage to enemies. Players could choose between slashing and bashing their foes with this new weapon.
Ifrit shares its combat style with Beowulf, Gilgamesh, and Balrog in the respective sequels to the first game. Each one added new combos and abilities to Dante’s repertoire. With the push of a button in later games, Dante could transition between his melee weapon to mix up and deal even more powerful combos with gauntlets that could sap enemy life quickly.

2Alastor
The second sword Dante receives inDevil May Cryfeatures a lightning elemental. Alastor’s design, name, and electric properties make it among the single most badass weapons in any game ever. Unlike Dante’s first weapon, the Force Edge, Alastor deals more damage, offers a larger moveset, and grants Dante the Devil Trigger ability.
While Alastor never appeared again after the first game, it was featured inViewtiful Joe. As Hideki Kamiya created bothDevil May CryandViewtiful Joe, this shared universe, so to speak, gave Alastor the life of an actual demon who confronted protagonist Joe as his rival. Not only does it have Dante’s trademark moves, like Round Trip and Air Raid, but in the PS2 version, Dante even confronts him and the two engage in an argument before their fight.
